By the Root was inspired by combining a passion for sustainable living, an abundance of outdoor work experience, and a desire to make a true difference for the land and people of our community in Northeast Ohio. We are a small business, owned and operated by the two of us. Run with the help of a few good friends and family, whose support and decades of experience we rely on.

We operate our business under the principle of the Golden Rule. We only do the type of quality work we would accept on our own property. We are a small two man crew who work diligently and effectively on everything from basic lawncare and plant care, larger installations meant to increase biodiversity, edible plant options, and time spent enjoying backyards, and we are also happy to install and maintain any food producing garden space for you!
